Interxion, a leading European provider of carrier-neutral colocation center data services, today announced that SIX Swiss Exchange – the primary Swiss securities exchange – will offer proximity services to market participants from Interxion's Zurich data centre.
By locating their trading platforms within Interxion's Zurich data centre, in close proximity to the SIX Swiss Exchange matching engines, brokers, hedge funds and (high-frequency) trading firms will benefit from low latency trading in Swiss securities. Customers can connect to the SIX Swiss Exchange's high speed CTI (Capacity Trading Interface) through exchange-managed high capacity fibre links. Additionally, market participants will be able to cross-connect to the 'Financial Hub' partner community within the data centre, including a choice of low latency connectivity options to Interxion's well-established Financial Hubs in other liquidity centres, including London and Frankfurt.
Clemens Reuter [Managing Director and Head of Marketing and Sales] at SIX Swiss Exchange, said: "This service provides a new exchange connectivity option for our customers, particularly those wishing to establish a footprint in Zurich. A large proportion of our customer base is connecting to the exchange from remote trading locations, and is looking for Proximity Services to improve trading performance without increasing risk. All these benefits result in increased liquidity and more efficient market activity which ultimately benefits the end investor."
